NuMark Credit Union Collects Donations for Honor Flight Chicago

May 2023-NuMark Credit Union is proud to announce that a total of $2575 was donated to Honor Flight Chicago. Honor Flight Chicago is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring veterans, by collecting donations to support their mission of providing memorable trips to Washington, D.C. for deserving veterans. This collaboration reflects NuMark Credit Union’s commitment to giving back to the community and recognizing the service and sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

Wally Chlipala, NuMark Board member and veteran who has submitted an application to be a part of a flight was one of those who was there for the welcoming states; “I have attended an Honor Flight return flight to Midway and it is a remarkable reception for the returning veterans. A long day but I know rewarding. I had an opportunity to speak to a few veterans that returned and their statements about the day are nothing but praise for those who were involved in the program. Many veteran comments were similar, they never thought they would be part of such a wholehearted patriotic experience.”

Unlike Wally, Ray Eich, also a NuMark Board member and veteran has been a part of the experience and he would say that “this is just another example how NuMark Credit Union cares about our veterans and their opportunity to receive the honor they deserve for the sacrifices they went through serving our Country. The money that was collected at our branches, and NuMark matching up to $1,500.00 makes it possible for Honor Flight Chicago to keep honoring those who served.”

From April 5th to May 31st NuMark Credit Union collected donations for Honor Flight Chicago where they would match up to the first $1,500 in person donations made in their lobbies.

In addition to collecting donations, NuMark Credit Union staff and board members were also present at this year’s first Honor Flight Homecoming of the season at Midway Airport on May 10th. This flight was a special one because it celebrated the flight of their 10,000th veteran flown.

NuMark Credit Union recognizes the importance of supporting organizations like Honor Flight Chicago and aims to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans by raising funds to allow them to visit the national memorials and monuments dedicated to them as a thank you for their service.
